Our own In-house makeover story

I remember the day when Parvathi came to us as we were looking for someone who could take care of our store . I was not very sure if she could do justice to the brand image that we are trying to project for our clothing brand BAJA . Then Amrutha ( my business  partner )  and me decided to give her a chance and we also were very confident that we would be able to groom her .

So here is Parvathi’s  makeover story  from a very meek girl to a very confident BAJA employee. A girl who would shy away from camera. Everything about her is a true transformation – from the way she speaks to the customer, she coordinates with people in our unit , managing the couriers, following up with customers and getting the job done at the bank. Love the attitude shift – Now her confidence level has increased so much that she can go to anyone and ask ,clear doubts and get the job done – Proud of her and ourselves 🙂

Erase and reprogram – The power of self talk !

Ashu ( now 14 year old)  was just 18 months old when we decided to move to US . She was a very shy child , the moment she will see someone coming closer to her she would come running to us and hide behind us and people would invariably say ” oh! your daughter is too shy ” . I was more angered by the comments than my daughters shyness.

Got hold of a book What To Say When You Talk To Yourself  by Shad Helmstetter and then starts my fascination for self talk.

The first self talk that we wrote for our daughter –

I am very bold  and i can say hello

I am very beautiful , i have lovely hair and skin

I can do magic with words and i love numbers .

I love me and respect others .

She was   just two and she would repeat after us before she went to bed . Yes, people have teased us and told that it is brain washing  and then i would say if people around us can do the negative brain washing  then definitely a positive one can minimize the damage .

Self talk !!!
Self Talk is the way your mind speaks to you in all situations, from daily routines to difficult life events. It is the voice that can either encourage you or chastise you. The good news is by listening to your inner dialog and shifting it to become more in line with what you really want, you can transform your life.

Now i help people to write their own self talk , image makeover that starts from “inside “.

As for Ashu , she has grown up to be a amazing confident young lady, a rebel ( at 14 )  but a pretty confident one 🙂

How do you decide – what to wear and where ?

How do you decide ?

So what would you wear? if you are being interviewed as an entrepreneur and designer 🙂

So today being that day  i decided to wear a BAJAdress , in elegant wide u neckline adorned with a delicate midnight blue cotton lace overlay,  while sheer panels along the shoulders and bottom infuse your ensemble with a hint of dramatic panache. Wearing shoes in suede , silver , gold beaded necklace and a bold watch ( keep the no. of accessories  to maximum 3, so you won’t clutter the look . Hence if wearing this dress as evening wear add a glittered clutch,  you can’t help but feel as glamorous as you look!

Being a image makeover consultant I advice to follow 4 rules and hence making sure that you feel confident and dressed right .

1. To know your color profile – When clothing worn that compliments your color profile , you look more healthy and confident.

2. To know your personality style – Wearing clothing according to your lifestyle , body type ,  career and personality so you are who you are – better U

3. To know your audience or people you are going to meet  –  Meeting with your clients , pitching your business plan to investors or meeting your child’s teacher .

4. To know the occasion – can be a event where you are the speaker , or a conference  or just a casual visit to mall .

cheers to the confident “U” 🙂
