Was at an entrepreneur’s meet at one of the popular coffee joint .Ironically, some of us were still sipping a hot cup of assam tea J. It was such an eventful meet. It was encouraging to see women play such a variety of different roles
By around 530pm all of us were ready to leave but Vasanthi had to host some major event that evening , for which she had to change into something traditional.
She changed and came out in a wonderful burgundy sari. Looking at her I was really tempted to dress up her wonderful eyes .Women have been accentuating their eyes since Cleopatra first brandished a wand of eyeliner . Not being an eyeliner fan I wanted to work with a kajal pencil we found in Vasanthi’s pouch . Growing up in a traditional south Indian family, the only cosmetic we could use was a vial of kohl or a kajal stick.
This is how I created the look that evening –
Used the foundation on the eyelids and under the eye (the foundation can be mixed with eye cream to give a smoother look around the eye with no stretch marks)
Used the kajal inside as well as on top of the upper eyelid very close to eyelash, to give the illusion of thick eyelashes.
On top of the upper eye lid, drew a line from the inner corner of the eye till the outer corner.
With the ring finger, smudged this line, to give it that smudged look.
Used the kajal half way through in the bottom eyelid and used a few small strokes in the corner of the eye to accentuate the corner (smudged it the same way). If a little more creative , this can be also made to give a cats eye look ( as shown in the pic )
Finished the look with mascara, using it only on the upper lashes.
Vasanthi was instantly transformed into a beautiful, sensuous woman with that mysterious look, that any woman would love to .
